Do you remember the movie Miss Potter, one of the all time best movies, Beatrix Potter painted the pictures of rabbits, she made it as a Christmas present for Norman Warne, her publisher, those paintings you can still enjoy in the Victoria & Albert museum. The first in the series were showing five rabbits swathed in overcoats, it was originally given to Potter’s aunt, fetched £121,250.

Tate Britain sets out to prove the opposite of the myths behind the easiest and cheapest form of painting, and reveal a rich history going back to the Middle Ages and forward to ground breaking contemporary art. Every month they are showcasing about 200 different works, from different schools and exhibitions, making the best!
The Golden age in Britain of watercolor painting was around 1750-1850, when watercolors were used as far back as the Middle Ages and are evident in manuscripts, topographical illustrations. Even if you are not into the art, just make yourself a nice day with friends or family, remembering the famous Miss Potter movie, and some of the paintings could be a beautiful Christmas gift.
