This Summer will come with the Olympic Games in London. The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad or "London 2012 Olympic Games", and will take a place in London, England, United Kingdom from 27 July to 12 August 2012. Millions of people from all over the world are looking forward to take a part in this magnificent event.
The 2012 Summer Olympics will include 26 sports, which will break down into 39 disciplines with two additional sports due to be added to the 2016 Summer Olympics, 17,000 athletes participated, representing 205 countries, still to come, 63.000 people involved in staging the games, 500.000 spectators and finally 9 million tickets are expected to be sold. And this year London will become the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times, in the past hosted the Olympic Games in 1908 and in 1948.
Of course the first, the second and the third place will win medals, gold, silver and bronze. The deadline was in 15 July back in 2003, when nine cities were selected to host the games, Havana, Istanbul, Leipzig, London, Madrid, Moscow, New York City, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. There will be many rituals and ceremonies for opening and closing, such as the Olympic flag and torch. London 2012 Olympic Games aim to spread harmony and peace all across the globe.
